Situated just outside of Metropolitan's service area, amid picturesque views of the ocean and Ventura Pier, Mark Lere's "Five Senses" is an integral component of the Ventura Promenade and beach community.
The work, which includes a fountain and several large bronze plaques, celebrates water and the ways in which we enjoy it--through sight, sound smell taste or touch.
The fountain, which is flush with the pavement, allows people to get
close to the work. You often see young children playing in the fountain,
or people with their pets.
