Call For High School Student Exhibits
The Metropolitan Water District is pleased to extend an invitation to Southern California undergraduate, graduate, technical trade school, and high school students to participate in the 9th annual ECO Innovators’ Showcase at Metropolitan’s Spring Green Expo 2018.
April 19, 2018, 8:30AM to 1:00PM

Exhibit set-up 7:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.
Opening Ceremony 8:30 a.m.
Exhibits Open 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
ECO Innovators’ Awards Ceremony 1:00 p.m.
Join Our Green Team!
If you have a project with a strong sustainability component, this is an excellent opportunity to showcase your work. Individual and/or team entries may include projects, proposals or prototypes from the current or a previous school year. The project must be ready for public viewing before April 19, 2018. Your entry can address a wide range of sustainability topics, such as:
- Water Conservation or Quality
- Energy Conservation
- Non-renewable Fuels
- Green Building/Construction
- Air Quality
- Community Health
Since inclusion of the student showcase in 2010, nearly 675 students from 33 colleges have participated. 2018 will be the third year we will be accepting high schools into the ECO Innovators’ Showcase. Submit an application soon so that you can:
- Be recognized for your time and efforts
- Educate others about potential solutions to environmental problems
- Network with business owners committed to environmental products & services
- Network with students from numerous schools and see their vision for future sustainability

Get Ready for the Competition
Students selected to participate have the option to enter their project/prototype in competition. Individual and Team projects will be scored separately. A panel of judges from Metropolitan’s Engineering, Water Resource Management, Water System Operation and External Affairs groups will select the winners in each category.
