Metropolitan Plans for Southern California's Water Future

Metropolitan prepares for the future through an Integrated Resources Plan (IRP) developed in coordination with its member agencies and retail water providers across the region. The first IRP was adopted in 1996 and has been updated several times over the past 25 years. Metropolitan is currently creating a new IRP that will incorporate different scenarios to most effectively plan for and address potential water supply reliability challenges through 2045. An online public workshop was held May 20, with another one taking place Friday, May 22. Read General Manager Jeffrey Kightlinger's blog about the importance of the IRP.

Santa Ana Valley Pipeline Undergoes Repairs
Santa Ana

The California Department of Water Resources recently repaired a leak in the Santa Ana Valley Pipeline, which delivers Northern California water from the State Water Project to the region. Crews worked around the clock to complete the repair as quickly as possible, while following all regional health guidelines related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Thank you to consumers in Moreno Valley and nearby Riverside County communities for stopping outdoor water use during the emergency repairs.
