Group Manager External Affairs
Christina L. Neal

Christina Neal is group manager for External Affairs at the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.   She is responsible for managing the day-to-day business and budget of the nearly 60-employee department as well as supervising its media and publications, customer service and community relations, legislative and an administrative support team.

Neal began as a legal analyst at Metropolitan in 1984 where she coordinated the legislative analysis and review process.  In January 2002, she was named section manager of the legislative services team and directed Metropolitan’s legislative activities, including advocating Met’s interests before the executive, legislative and regulatory branches of the states and federal government.
Prior to joining Metropolitan, Neal served for 11 years in the crime prevention unit and as an analyst in the anti-trust section of former State Attorney General John Van De Camp’s office. 

She earned a bachelor’s degree in history, with a minor in political science, at UC Santa Barbara and a master’s in public administration from the University of Southern California.
