CSU Dominguez Hills___

California State University, Dominguez Hills, served by West Basin Municipal Water District, received a One Water Award for a water recovery project that captures and reuses HVAC condensation previously lost to sewer drains.

The system, now an educational lab for hundreds of students annually, redirects high-quality water for reuse in the Carson campus cooling towers.

Altman Specialty Plants___

Altman Specialty Plants, served by Western Municipal Water District, was honored for an innovative system that recycles 80% of irrigation runoff at its Lake Mathews nursery site.

The system uses vegetated wetlands to treat the runoff and create a sustainable ecosystem that generates high-quality water for irrigation. It is projected to save 180 million gallons annually.

Jamacha Park Homeowner Association___

The Jamacha Park Homeowner Association, a 64-home community in El Cajon served by the San Diego County Water Authority, replaced 58,000 square feet of grass on its walkways and community spaces with beautiful climate-appropriate plants, efficient irrigation, and stormwater capture features.

The HOA used Metropolitan, SDCWA and San Diego County funding to help reduce water use by 80%.

El Caballero's Country Club___

Tarzana’s El Caballero Country Club, served by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, redesigned its golf course with drought-tolerant, warm-season Bermuda grass known for its exceptional playability.

In collaboration with Southern California Golf Association, efficient irrigation equipment and California Friendly® plants were installed, helping to save 28 million gallons of water per year.

Water Savings Incentive Program___

The Water Savings Incentive Program has funded over 180 projects throughout Southern California, saving an estimated 1.5 billion gallons of water annually.

The program provides unique and customized funding opportunities to commercial, industrial, institutional, and agricultural customers and is part of a suite of water conservation incentives offered by Metropolitan.

More than 800 billion gallons of the water Metropolitan currently has in storage can be attributed to the region’s continued investments in conservation.
